Our Expatriates

When I was in elementary school, I always heard about the Saudi Boy or Balikbayan (Filipino who permanently live in other country) and these words still hold true today.

Many people are working abroad because our country could not give us a secure job or shall we say a job with good salary.

When Ramos was still the president, he said that the Filipino people should go home because the economy in the Philippines was one of the fastest growing economy in Asia but when the Asian crisis stroke, people started to go back to Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries and the Balikbayan (Filipino who permanently live in other country) went back to USA, Canada and other Western Countries.

What made the Philippines very poor while her neighboring countries are becoming rich and stable?

Right now I see that it is the system of the government that made the Philippines as one of the poorest country in Asia.

Corruption and population boom are two of the main problem why this beautiful country is still the sick man of Asia.

This blog is for all OFW or expatriates who suffered a lot because of being away from their family and expose to danger in foreign land.

Exposed in employer's abuse, war turn place and other man made calamities.

Being a housemaid abroad is prone to sexual abuse but all of these danger and humiliations are swallowed by our people because they dreamed for brighter future for their family and the only way to make it a reality is to serve other nationalities.

I knew that there some decent jobs for our people abroad like being a doctor, engineer and teacher but the mere fact is that many of our kababayan are still working as domestic helper, driver, and other non skilled jobs that Filipina became a synonymous as maid in some Europe countries has made us somewhat a low class people.

So this blog is dedicated for them.

I will post here some very informative news about our OFW like scams, warning or band country, job opportunities and some news from Filipinos around the world.

I will also write not only for Philippines but other countries as well.
