Arroyo seek Clemency for two OFW in Kuwait

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo seeks clemency for the two OFW in Kuwait who are in danger of death sentence punishment. The president welcome the Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser Mohammad al-Ahmad al-Sabah who pay a visit to Presidential Palace last Friday.

Here are the rest of the news:
Arroyo thanked the prime minister for sparing two Filipino workers who were earlier sentenced to death for murder and asked if similar clemency could be extended to the two currently on trial, the Philippine Daily Inquirer said.

However, the Kuwaiti PM said all judicial processes would have to be settled before clemency could be considered, the Inquirer reported.

The leaders also discussed the need for more laborers in Kuwait.

The Inquirer reported that in their meeting the prime minister said Kuwait needed more workers aside from the 110,000 Filipinos already working there.

"We have no quota for Filipinos, even one million are welcome," the Inquirer quoted the PM as saying.

The Philippine government earlier said that the visiting prime minister would oversee the signing of agreements on cooperation in the field of health services. However, the details of the agreement were not revealed.

I just hope that the two OFW will be pardoned and that their sentence will be reduced to life sentence. There are many expatriates today that are victims of circumstances. But as a christian we must save life rather than waste it.
